Haidilao Huoguo Flushing is a well-known hot pot restaurant that draws a lively local crowd in the heart of Flushing, NY. Known for its approachable yet immersive take on traditional Chinese hot pot, this spot offers more than just a meal — it’s a social experience centered around sharing and customizing your own cooking at the table.

The large, bright dining area manages to stay inviting and well-organized, even when busy. Expect a mix of groups ranging from families celebrating special occasions to friends gathering for a warming communal meal. The atmosphere feels lively but not overwhelming, with attentive staff consistently moving through the space to refill ingredients, suggest sauces, and assist with everything from setup to cleanup. The presence of playful amenities in the waiting area like table games, along with complimentary snacks and drinks, eases any wait and hints at the restaurant’s focus on customer comfort.

Haidilao Huoguo’s menu highlights familiar hot pot staples with a few standout options like the tomato soup base, mushroom broth, and a "fish shrimp duo platter" that showcases fresh seafood. The sauce station is an especially popular feature, allowing diners to craft personalized dipping blends, adding a hands-on element that makes each meal unique. Light bites and desserts, including fried chicken and soft serve ice cream — particularly the mango milk tea flavor — provide a nice balance between savory and sweet, rounding out the meal.

This place suits those who enjoy culinary exploration in a group setting or anyone looking to learn the ropes of hot pot dining, as servers often take time to explain cooking times and ingredient selection, especially for newcomers. The attentive service stands out, with some staff remembered by repeat guests for thoughtful touches, like prepping your drink area or celebrating seasonal occasions with themed decorations.

Visits on chilly evenings feel fitting, as the steaming pots provide both warmth and a comforting focus for conversation, while daytime or lunch specials offer a more budget-friendly introduction without losing that convivial vibe. While wait times can extend during peak hours, the restaurant’s efficient seating process and the entertaining waiting area help ease the experience.

Overall, Haidilao Huoguo Flushing offers an engaging, hands-on dining occasion ideal for social dinners, group celebrations, or anyone curious about diving into hot pot culture with supportive staff and a versatile menu to match.

Halloween Hotpot Night at Haidilao! We came here on Halloween night and had such a great time! The service was amazing as always — super friendly and fast. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for the chilly weather. The staff even added a little festive touch for the holiday, which made the atmosphere really fun and cozy. Definitely one of the best Haidilao experiences in New York!

First time going here with my friend and my expectations were blown out of the water. Excellent service, staff was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. Wanted to shout out our server Wang Mengqi, she made our experience amazing! It was my first time going to a hot pot restaurant and she explained how everything worked, how to cook, etc. I can’t wait to come back again and hope to see Mengqi again!!!

Our party of 12 (10 adults and 2 children) visited Haidilao Hot Pot for a birthday celebration, and this was our first time dining here. The restaurant was spacious, clean, and well organized. We really enjoyed the sauce, snack, and dessert bars. The lunch special was an excellent value at $20 per person and included a soup base, one protein (beef, pork, or fish), vegetables, and noodles or rice. Our server, David, was attentive and friendly. We did run into an issue with the kids’ meals. Since kids eat free, and based on other reviews as well as phone calls beforehand, we expected chicken nuggets to be available at the appetizer bar. Unfortunately, none were available that day. We were told multiple times by David and other staff that the chicken nuggets were being prepared, but after waiting over an hour, the kids’ meals arrived with fruit, a small drink, and mini buns (which resembled nuggets) with ketchup. By that point, the kids were hungry and disappointed, as these were not chicken nuggets. When we asked again, we were finally informed that the nuggets had sold out. The staff did provide four manually deboned chicken wings, which we appreciated, but clearer communication from the beginning would have helped manage expectations. Aside from that, the adults really enjoyed the food. The tomato broth was especially delicious, and the meats and fish were tender and fresh. I also liked the pig ears appetizer, and the shrimp paste and fish balls we added were tasty. The desserts were good as well, especially the matcha and vanilla ice cream. We’re deducting one star due to the kids’ meal issue. Overall, the food and experience were great for adults, but better communication about kids’ options would improve the experience.

Great place if you're looking for a nice meal and service that excels. Host and hostess are constantly making sure you feel welcomed even on the extremely busy night we went. Waiting area had some table games to keep you busy as well as lemon water, tea and some light snacks like candy and pretzals. They told us that wait time was about 45 min, but we got our table within 20 min. Once seated, the food selection was super fresh. Ordering was done through an iPad at the table but if you need help, a waiter is on hand to explain the types of food and drinks and answer any questions you may have. Everything was out in a flash. They charge you $2.99 per person to use the sauce bar, I would recommend if you've never been to a hotpot place but if you have, you can skip it, unless you want unlimited soft serve and extra crackers, which are included with the sauce bar. The soup base was the most flavorful we have ever tried. My wife had the bone broth with mushrooms and I had the tomato. Did not need any dipping sauce with these two soup bases. All in all, excellent food that you won't normally find at a standard hotpot place. We had two types of Wagyu, shrimp, razor clams, crispy tofu skin and some veggies. You can order hand pulled noodles as well as ramen and upon but we were stuffed. I would definitely recommend. Try reserving ahead of time because they are always busy.

I visited Haidilao on a weekday evening last week around 7 P.M. and was surprised by how busy it was. Several parties ahead were already waiting and there were others who had likely pre-booked through the app. Even without a reservation, our wait wasn’t too long. The waiting area was welcoming with a photo booth, drinks, snacks, and toys to keep guests entertained. If you’re coming from 39th Ave, the restaurant is located in the back of the building, around the corner, on the second floor. If you’re driving, parking was readily available in the nearby municipal lot. Inside, the space was large and bright with about 100 tables. Before our server Yuna arrived, the attendant who brought us from the front had greeted us and kindly checked whether we were familiar with hotpot dining. Yuna stopped by soon after we were seated and made a great first impression by handing us bags to store our jackets, eyeglass cleaning pads, and hair ties for long hair. We ordered the quarter pot with tomato, tom yum, pork bone, and sukiyaki broths ($30~). You can also choose between a single or double pot depending on your party size and preference. Haidilao is known for its tomato broth and it definitely lived up to the hype. Asides from the tomato broth, every other broth was perfectly balanced, flavorful and not too salty or overpowering. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we treated ourselves to some premium items including wagyu ($30), abalone ($48), lobster ($30), sea cucumbers ($20), etc. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, fresh, and of the highest quality. We also tried the golden fried buns with condensed milk bricks and found them crisp and tasty. The pre-meal bites and snacks at the appetizer and sauce bar were all good as well. The sauce bar offers a wide variety of options for $3 per person, and while none initially stood out when I tried Haidilao’s recommended recipes, Yuna prepared her three personal favorites for us and we really enjoyed them. Watching the handmade noodle performance alongside the mask-changing show also added a fun and unique element to our meal too! We also saw a ton of robot servers in action, although we didn’t get served by one this time haha. We didn’t explore much of the drinks or dessert options as we were already full, but we did enjoy some fruits like honeydew and tangerines, along with some ice cream. The bathrooms were spotless with bidets and gapless doors in the stalls. They were also well-stocked with mouthwash, floss, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary pads, diapers, and even makeup remover wipes. For a party of four, our total came up to around $230 and with a 30% tip, it was close to $300. Everyone in our party agreed it was worth every dollar. The combination of top-tier service, excellent food, and thoughtful extras made Haidilao one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in a while. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying their 9 P.M. meat lovers deal. I also found out at the end from Yuna that if you call ahead for birthdays or other special occasions, the staff can personalize your table for the celebration. If you plan to visit Haidilao more than once, be sure to download the app to make the most of rewards and deals! P.S. Thank you to the staff for all the wonderful little freebies and surprises! P.P.S. I’ve heard a lot about Haidilao’s chicken nuggets through word-of-mouth, but didn’t get a chance to try them this time.

We came to Hai Di Lao to celebrate a birthday and had the best experience! Our server Yu Xin was amazing; so attentive and thoughtful throughout the whole meal. The food was fresh and delicious, and Yu Xin went above and beyond by singing a birthday song for us, which made the atmosphere so fun and memorable. Truly a 10/10 experience. Highly recommend this location and a big thank you to Yu Xin for making our celebration extra special!

We had the two-person lunch set menu. The service was excellent, and they also provided small side dishes and fresh fruit. I chose the set with fish fillets while my friend had the meat option—more than enough for two people to enjoy and left us feeling full and satisfied. At the end, we also had ice cream, which was also delicious. Overall, a great experience. I especially recommend the lunch set—it’s affordable, the service is outstanding, and the ingredients are fresh and clean.
